I  BSD-RF4080

1. Overview

The BSD-FR4080 is a desktop or table-top 1D or 2D barcode scanner that operates by capturing the barcode as an image and using UIMG technology for description and interpretation which allows it to scan effectively regardless of the barcode being up strait, sideways of upside down. It provides users with Level, Sense, Continuous, and Pulse modes accommodating different scanning needs.

 

2. Features of the BSD-FR4080

  • Quick to switch mode
    The Switch at the top of the scanner allows users to swiftly toggle between the Normal mode and High Motion Tolerance mode.
  • Snappy on-screen barcode captur
    CPU-based, this scanner is capable of reading 1D as well as high-volume 2D barcodes on screens covered with protective film.
  • Superior motion tolerance
    Exceptional motion tolerance (2.5m/s) and large FOV (horizontal 51°, vertical 32°) enhance user experience.
  • 1.2m drop resistant
    The scanner withstands multiple 1.2m drops to concrete (six sides, one drop per side).
  • IR trigger
    Its Infrared (IR) sensor allows for speedy barcodes capture, increasing throughput and productivity
  • IP52-rated sealing
    An IP52-rated seal protects the scanner against the limited ingress of dust and water plashes.

4. Connecting the Scanner to a Host Device.

The scanner must be connected to your host device using the actual application such as a PC, POS or any intelligent terminal with a USB or RS-232 port.

     4.1  Connecting to a USB port.
            To connect the printer to a host device with a USB port, a cable with an RJ45 and USB connector is required.

                    a.  Plug the cable’s RJ45 connector into the data port on the scanner.

                    b.  Plug the cable’s USB connector into the USB port on the host device.


     4.2  Connecting to an RS-232 Port.
            To connect the printer to a host device with a RS-232 port, a cable with an RJ45, an RS-232 connector and a power jack is required.

                    a.  Plug the cable’s RJ 45 connector into the data port on the scanner.
                    b.  Plug the cable’s RS-232 connector into the RS-232 port on the host device.
                    c.  Plug the power adapter into the power jack of the cable.
                    d.  Connect the power adapter to a power outlet.

 

5. Power ON, Power OFF or Reboot.

     a.  Power ON the Scanner. Connect the scanner to a Host. Then the scanner will be turned on.

     b.  Power OFF the Scanner. Remove the communication cable from the scanner or remove the USB cable from the Host or disconnect the            power adaptor from the main power outlet.

     c.  Reboot the Scanner. If the scanner stops responding to input or runs abnormally, turn off the scanner and then turn it back on.

 

6. Scanning Instructions.

Follow the steps below to scan a barcode first ensuring the scanner is powered ON, connected to the host device and in the desired scan mode:
Note: recommended scanning distance is 10mm to 210mm for 1D barcodes and 10mm to 180mm for 2D.

     a.  Present the barcode to the center of the scan window.

     b.  Successfully decoded scans will be indicated by the Good Read LED (green) flashing once.

 

7. Scan Modes.

a. Level Mode: In this mode, a trigger, located on each side on the scanner will activate the decode session. The decode session continues until a barcode is decoded or the trigger is released.

b. Sense Mode: The scanner activates a decode session every time it detects a barcode presented to it. The decode session continues until a barcode is decoded or the decode session times out. Reread Timeout can avoid undesired re-reading of the same barcode in a given period of time. Image Stabilization Timeout gives the scanner time to adapt to ambient environment after it decodes a barcode and “looks” for another. Image Change Trigger Sensitivity can change the Sense Mode’s sensibility to changes in images captured, while IR Proximity Trigger Sensitivity can adjust the Sense Mode’s sensibility in detecting barcodes presented to the scanner.

c. Continuous Mode: The scanner automatically starts on decode session after another. To suspend/resume barcode reading, simply press the trigger. Reread Timeout can avoid undesired re-reading of the same barcode in a given period of time.

d. Pulse Mode: When the trigger is pulled and released, scanning is activated until a barcode is decoded or the decode session timeout expires (The decode session timeout begins when the trigger is released).

8. Maintenance Instructions.

     a.  The scan window should be kept clean.
     b.  Do not scratch the scan window.
     c.  Use a soft brush to remove dust from the scan window.
     d.  Use a soft cloth such as an eyeglass cleaning cloth to clean the window.
     e.  Do not spray any liquid on the scan window.
     f.  Do not use any detergent or abrasive products to clean other parts of the device

 

9. Factory Default.

Scanning the following barcodes can restore the scanner to the factory defaults. You may need to reset all parameters to the factory default when:

     a.  Scanner is not properly configured so it fails to decode barcodes.

     b.  You forget previous configuration and want to avoid its impact.

BSH-HR2081

1. Overview

The BSH-HR2081 is a handheld USB 1D/2D imager scanner that operates by capturing the barcode as an image and using UIMG technology for description and interpretation which allows it to scan effectively regardless of the barcode being up strait, sideways of upside down, and can read barcodes on paper/labels, plastic cards, LCD and other kinds of mediums of printing and displaying.

Normal Mode: Select this mode when reading barcodes on paper.


Screen mode: Select this mode when reading barcodes on the screen.

 

4. Connecting the Scanner to a Host Device.

The scanner must be connected with its USB cable to your host device PC, POS or any intelligent terminal USB port.

5. Power On, Power Off, Reboot.

  1. Power on the Scanner. Connect the scanner to a Host. Then the scanner will be turned on.
  2. Power off the Scanner. Remove the USB cable from the Host device.
  3. Reboot the Scanner. If the scanner stops responding to input or runs abnormally, turn off the scanner and then turn it back on.

6. Scanning Instructions.

When the scanner is in the Sense scan mode, you can follow the steps below to scan a barcode.

  1. Present the barcode on a mobile phone screen or paper to the center of the scan window.
  2. For a successful read, the scanner will send the data to the host with its Good Read LED flashing once.

7. Scan Modes.

Level Mode: In this mode a trigger pull will activate the decode session. The decode session continues until a barcode is decoded or you release the trigger.

Sense Mode: The scanner waits for the image stabilization timeout to expire before activating a decode session every time it detects a change in ambient illumination. Decode session continues until a barcode is decoded or the decode session timeout expires. In this mode, a trigger pull can also activate a decode session. The decode session continues until a barcode is decoded or the trigger is released. When the session ends, the scanner continues to monitor ambient illumination. Timeout between Decodes (Same Barcode) can avoid undesired rereading of same barcode in a given period of time. Sensitivity can change the Sense Mode’s sensibility to changes in ambient illumination

Continuous Mode: The scanner automatically starts on decode session after another. To suspend/resume barcode reading, simply press the trigger. Timeout between Decodes (Same Barcode) can avoid undesired re-reading of same barcode in a given period of time.

Pulse Mode: When the trigger is pulled and released, scanning is activated until a barcode is decoded or the decode session timeout expires (The decode session timeout begins when the trigger is released).

Batch Mode: When the trigger is pulled and released, scanning is activated until the trigger is released. While pulling the trigger, good read barcodes will beep and output barcode information. As long as the trigger is unreleased, it will continue decoding. While pulling the trigger, the same barcode can only be read once.

8. Maintenance Instructions.

  1. The scan window should be kept clean.
  2. Do not scratch the scan window.
  3. Use a soft brush to remove dust from the scan window.
  4. Use a soft cloth such as an eyeglass cleaning cloth to clean the window.
  5. Do not spray any liquid directly onto the scan window.
  6. The below liquids can be used to sanitize and clean the scanner
    • Water
    • 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and 97% Water solution
    • 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and 9% Water Solution
    • Metrex CaviCide
    • 75% Alcohol
    • Clinell Universal Sanitizing Wipes
    • Sani-Hands instant Hand Sanitizing Wipes
    • PDI Sani-Cloth AK3 Germicidal Disposable Wipe
    • 10% Bleach (“Sodium Hypochlorite 0.55%) and 90% Water Solution (do not apply it to the label of the scanner)
    • Do not apply any liquid in the USB port

9. Factory Default

Scanning the following barcodes can restore the scanner to the factory defaults. You may need to reset all parameters to the factory default when:

  1. Scanner is not properly configured so it fails to decode barcodes.
  2. You forget previous configuration and want to avoid its impact.

III  BSH-HR2081BT 

1. Overview

The BSH-HR2081BT is a handheld Bluetooth 1D/2D imager scanner that operates by capturing the barcode as an image and using UIMG technology for description and interpretation which allows it to scan effectively regardless of the barcode being up strait, sideways of upside down, and can read barcodes on paper/labels, plastic cards, LCD and other kinds of mediums of printing and displaying.

3. Scanning Preference

Normal Mode: Select this mode when reading barcodes on paper.

Screen mode: Select this mode when reading barcodes on the screen.

Barcode Pay mode: Select this mode when reading the payment barcode.

4. Connecting the Scanner to a Host Device.

The scanner must be connected to your host device such as a PC, POS or any intelligent terminal using its Bluetooth USB Dongle. Once the dongle is plugged into the host device, the scanner connects to it and is able to transmit its data.

5. Power On, Power Off, Reboot.

  1. Power on the Scanner. Press and hold trigger for about 6-7 seconds or connect the USB cable. The scanner will beep when it is powered ON.
  2. Power off the Scanner. Scan the barcode below to power off the printer

6. Scanning Instructions.

When the scanner is in the Sense scan mode, you can follow the steps below to scan a barcode.

  1. Present the barcode on a mobile phone screen or paper to the center of the scan window.
