Registration
Any scale used to sell product between two parties is considered a commercial scale.
Any business previously inspected will receive an application form within the registration cycle.
The cycle runs from February 1st to January 31st.
Any new business must contact their regional Field Inspector, a map of inspectors and contact information can be found HERE.
The field inspector will also do the sealing of the scale after proper calibration.

Calibration
Calibration should be performed by a certified Service Company.
The company should be registered with the state, and follow the NIST Handbook 44 (2018 Edition)
Maintenance
Each year the business should have a service company recalibrate the scale.
The Field Inspector will visit the business within a yearly cycle to come and test the scale.
If the scale fails inspection it is subject to fine.
