How to Configure Star Drivers to Cut In-Between Pages

Introduction

This guide explains how to configure a Star Micronics printer to cut in-between pages and test the cutter on both Windows and Mac devices using futurePRNT, StarPRNT, or Cups Drivers.

Supported Printers: futurePRNT, starPRNT printers on Windows, and printers supported by CUPS Drivers on Mac and Linux

Supported Interfaces: USB, LAN, BT, Wi-Fi, Serial, Parallel

Supported Environments: Windows, Mac, Linux

Devices Needed: Mac Computer, Windows Computer, Supported Star Micronics printer

Software Needed: futurePRNT, StarPRNT, or Cups Driver

Page cut settings on Windows using futurePRNT software

A.) Open control panel by either entering “control panel” Into the search bar (image 1/3). If the search bar is not

available please look to the two images on the right (image 2/3 and 3/3).

B.) Left click on “View devices and printers”

C.) Right click on the printer’s icon and a menu will open, please left click on printer properties.

D.) The Printer Properties window will open, please navigate to “Device Settings”.

E.) Under “Installable Options” you will see “Page Cut Type” please select the drop-down menu for this setting and

select “Partial Cut”

F.) Once you have adjusted the “Page Cut Type” setting to “Partial Cut” please click on “Apply” and “Ok” to confirm the

changes.

A.) Begin by following the instructions listed in Part I steps A through D.

B.) Under “Installable Options” there will be a “Paper Cut” setting. Please click on the drop-down menu for “Page Bottom” and select either “Full Cut” or “Partial Cut”

C.) Once you have adjusted the “Page Bottom” setting to “Partial Cut” or “Full Cut” please click on “Apply” and “Ok” to confirm the changes.

A.) Please open your web browser and enter locahost:631

B.) Running along the top of the page will be several tabs, please left click on the one called printers.

C.) Now left click on the name of the printer.

D.) Next you will see a drop-down menu called Administration, please left click on this and select “Set Default options”

E.) Please left click the “Cut Options” tab and then left click on the drop down for “Page Cut Type” and select either “Partial Cut” or “Full Cut” and then left click on “Set Default Options”

F.) You will now be prompted to enter your username and password for the account you are currently logged in as (this is the same username and password you use to login to the Mac)

How to verify my receipts are being cut on Windows

A.) Follow the instructions from part I of this manual up to step C.

B.) When the printer properties window opens by default you will have the “General” tab selected. At the bottom

right of this window you will see “Print Test Page”. Verify the test page cuts at the end.

How to verify my receipts are being cut on Mac

A.) Follow the instructions from part III of this manual to step C

B.) Select the drop-down menu for “Maintenance” and left click on” Print Test Page”. Verify the test page cuts at the end
